Parent/Community Education Night: The College Admissions Process

  • February 09, 2017
  • 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Fusion Academy, Oak Brook

Fusion Academy Oak Brook is excited to host Jeanette Spires and Marshalee Ray who will be speaking about The College Admissions Process. Having worked as a college counselor abroad and within the United States for many years, Jeanette Spires is a passionate and established professional who seeks to approach each student with a developmental perspective.  She shares, “This means that we try to assess how well the students are coping with the natural pressures of life, educationally and personally.  We try to keep as many doors open as possible for decision-making.  For college, we look at the process as if one is applying for a job as a student, and use a careers model to learn the skills that will be important for the later job search.” After being an educator for 3 decades, Marsha founded Student Extended Experiences Consulting, which helps students design their GAP year, college sabbatical, and study abroad experiences. Marsha states, “It’s in the process of exploring yourself that you grow, think differently, and define your academic path and your career goals.”

Join other parents and community members for this evening of learning in a casual atmosphere.
