Fractured Fairy Tales

Every week we will focus on a different fairy tale or fable. We will look at both traditional and fractured versions, and then work collaboratively to write our own fractured version.

Our main class goal will be working on teamwork and learning how to accept and value others' ideas.

At the end of the session, we will produce a book with all of our class stories.

Music & Drama for Littles

We will build on musical skills from last semester learning sight singing, notation, and music theory fundamentals through games, art, and more.

We will learn emotional literacy & build confidence through acting.

On the final day of class, there will be a short performance.

Prerequisites: None.  Teacher will differentiate for more and less advanced musicians and acting is self-differentiating.

Music Supplies required:

  • felt music staff manipulative if you have it from last semester
(if you weren't here last semester and don't have one, lmk and I'll make you one; we'll use them weekly)
  • a Nerf-ish gun your child is capable of loading & firing (exact brand doesn't matter, any kind of non-water gun that can be used to fire at music notes on the wall)
  • a smock or dress for mess in case we should do any artwork
  • bring a coat to class should we go outside for some of our work

Please tell me your child's background & feelings toward music and drama.
