U. S.  History from Columbus to the Modern Era


This class for "middles" will be based on readings from "The Young People's History of the United States," an adaptation of Howard Zinn's work by Rebecca Stefoff, 2009 edition. This book is a Social History. 

A Historical Atlas of the World by Rand Mcnally is also required. 

1 to 2 hours of YouTube History videos will also be assigned to watch on a weekly basis. 


Instructor: Erin Drennan

Ages: 8+

Materials fee: $21

Supplies required: students must purchase textbooks "The Young People's History of the United States," an adaptation of Howard Zinn's work by Rebecca Stefoff, 2009 edition (also available as an Audible book), and "A Historical Atlas of the World" by Rand McNally.


Erin Drennan earned a B.A with honors  in History from UIC, where she focused on 20th Century US Economic, Latin American, Russian and Chinese Studies.
